Storm 2006 Stormwater Drainage Channel Improvements
El Paso, Texas
The Storm 2006 Stormwater program consists of several projects designed to improve the stormwater infrastructure in the City of El Paso.
The Paragon-Santa Fe and Ojo de Agua Stormwater Drainage Channel Improvements projects included the construction of more than 7,000 linear feet of channels with average bottom width of 14 feet, and average height of 16 feet on a 3 to 1 slope.
The projects included the excavation of large de-silting areas and the construction of drainage structures, energy dissipation structures, rock walls, and ingress and egress ramps.
The projects required close coordination with neighboring businesses to allow access to the site and prevent disruption of their activities.
As a construction manager, ECM professional staff engineers coordinated the construction and permitting efforts to ensure quality, budget and schedules are met.
Both projects were finished on schedule and the channels are now in service.
