CITY OF EL PASO
Sun Metro Transit Terminals
El Paso, Texas
Sun Metro, the City of El Paso’s Mass Transfer Department, is transitioning from hub and spoke to nod operations. In order to achieve this, its capital improvements plan includes the design and construction of six transit terminals throughout the city: Downtown, Westside, Glory Road, Mission Valley, Northgate and Far Eastside.
Terminals include park and ride facilities, bus bays, building with offices, restrooms, waiting areas, retail spaces, and restaurant facilities. Four of the terminals are applying for the LEED Silver Certification.
Budgeting for each terminal vary from $2.5 to $11.0 million for a total estimated construction cost of $30 million.
As a program manager, ECM coordinates and reviews each design phase, performs constructability and cost estimate reviews, and supports with LEED and historical design issues.
As a construction manager, ECM coordinates the efforts of the contractor and subcontractors, designer, City Engineering and Sun Metro personnel.
